I Was A….

Overweight pre teen growing up in New Jersey in the late 70s. I grew up in three towns Maplewood-Newark and Kearny well not at once but you get the picture. But I got teased in all three lol for being that fat and I can truly say I was that fat at 11 years old.

And yes kids can be that cruel and even more cruel when you had a big mouth like mine. And well either start or just give back lip even though I knew I was going to get my ass beat for it. No those teasings and beatings I deserved because I started it. I actually forgot that back then we actually fought when something smart ass was said..

Fast Forward to 1985 and I was living in South Florida for one year, 8th grade to be exact now these teenagers down here did not play well with others and were even more cruel . It was like I arrived at school with a bulls eye on my back.. Oh it was relentless now some knew me and were joking and I was cool with that. But some were just relentless.

It got to the point where. I did not want to get out of the car in front of cute girls, because I was afraid they were going to make fun of me. I actually cried that day I really did.

A few weeks later…

To my Surprise my mom enrolled me into a new food lose weight program called Nutri-System.. (Yes That One) and over a few months I lost the weight that needed to be lost.. Not only did I feel better physically but mentally sooo very much better. A few months later I went back to New Jersey to start the 9th grade .

And the reception I got was amazing !

This is only one of my many stories in my life.

So when I tell you it gets better, it really will maybe not the time frame you hope to have it happen. But it will you can’t give up you just can’t ..
